Tbh buying with Gift cards does save you "money" but you lose extended warranty benefit which some cards have.

One could argue that you could buy AC+ with the money saved which would cover more than an ext warranty through a cc.

Who remembers the Walmart/Apple GC deal from 2/3 years back?

Dont make the mistake I made. I purchased 1 digital and 1 physical in same order. You should purchase them in separate orders else you would only get one 15% bonus gift card, not two.

You need to add your Apple account balance to your wallet app on your phone. Once it shows up in there as a "card" you can use it to buy hardware. They don't really tell you this, and when I had the payment processing failed issue it took some escalation before someone at Apple told me to do this.
What if I'm having that issue and I no longer have the physical card. When I remove the card from my wallet, im afraid it's going to ask me to enter the card number again which I don't have since I bought the gift card on a previous deal last year.

Apple GC sucks, if u redeem to ur apple account balance, it won't let u use balance to buy hardware (even their term said it is ok) , payment processing will fail;

If u don't redeem and wait until u need to buy or use in store, a lot of cards # will be stolen become $0 especially those u buy from target , grocery store
You have to call the right department in order to fix your account. I had the same problem. They tell you it's an error that they haven't fixed, but I'm pretty sure it's some sort of fraud deterrent.

This is the most frustrating thing about Apple. They have multiple services you can get without an iPhone, but there's always something that requires the iPhone. Believe it or not, you can apply for an Apple Card without NFC activation from an iPad. Even Apple's own customer service isn't aware you can get one without an iPhone. That's definitely caused some frustration when I run into a problem.

Did separate order 1x$100, 2x$50. Received 2x$15BB Gift card. Remember for $50 you can't update the quantity in the cart, so have to add to cart twice for $50

Generally true but not so much for technology. If you bought a Mac mini from Apple a few years ago you likely paid more than you would today (and would have an older model), since Apple dropped the price. Of course, you could have invested the money and probably made more in the mean time instead of having it sit in GC. Another issue of course is that your money is tied up for limited uses. If you want to use it for something else tomorrow you can't. And if the store/company goes out of business (unlikely with Apple at this time, of course) you are screwed as well. I generally don't like gift cards, but sometimes it can be a good strategy when you know you will use them soon for something you would buy either way, and can get them at a decent discount.
Agreed I often buy gift cards at a discount but only if I plan to use the value quickly. It makes little sense to hold gift cards over years, and since gift cards are tied to US dollars it doesn't matter what gift card you buy either (apple gift cards perform no better than any gift card because in the end they are worth the same face value in products).

There are safer investments with less risk and better returns and easier liquidity than gift cards. For instance if you bought $1000 (about $1200 in today's value) worth of apple stock 3 years ago you would have around $2300 whereas face value gift cards that you spent $1200 of value on are worth $1000. Apple stock is easier to trade and track and likely a safer investment than holding gift cards.

I'll wait for the Target deal, Best Buy is just worse and worse over the years on sales.
