Anyone else surprised to see an EUC posted on slickdeals?

I've had the Master a year now and I think it's great, for 2100 it's ideal for someone who is looking to step up from a non suspension wheel.

Much of the Electric Unicycle "community" strongly recommends going through an EUC dealer like eWheels or Alien Rides instead of Amazon. These specialized retailers have better support and I've also heard getting a solid EUC on Amazon is more of a crapshoot than eWheels or Alien Rides.

Wow, I had no idea the clown industry was so techy. Great to see circuses doing their part by going green,

Going 40+MPH on an electric unicycle is the most fun I've had as an adult that's legal to do in public.

These aren't for everyone. But there is absolutely nothing else that even comes close to the feel of an electric unicycle at speed. Wear all the motorcycle highway gear + motocross padding, of course.
You can wear iron man's suit and you will still get f'd all the way up going 40 and something goes wrong.

As someone whom has crashed a time or two at 45+, with the right gearing strategy for what your doing, you will minimize the risk. You could fall on street and as long as you don't hit a stationary object [light pole, car, etc] and your covered with gear for road rash, you should be fine. To your point, you could crash at 25mph and hit a stationary object and be completed screwed no matter what you're wearing.

I know you're talking about scooters, but I want to push back a little bit on "anything that is not a bike is not worth this price point" at least in my experience. I have two nice e-bikes, one of which I commuted to work with every day except when it was too cold or wet.

At the beginning of this year spring, I bought a V11 and have now commuted to work with it every day instead of the e-bike. I thought I'd at least keep using the e-bikes for grocery trips, but I'm surprised to report that even for that I've used the EUC with a big backpack.

I've discovered how much faster and more convenient it is at the destination to use the EUC because you can easily walk right in and not worry about locking it to a bike rack. The EUC has been faster than commuting and doing [closer] errands than even a car. Cutting out parking, and being able to take shortcuts saves so much more time than I would have guessed.

Of course your mileage may vary depending on the nature of your commute.
I second this. For those not familiar, EUC 's have extendable handles and they wheel under power like weightless suitcases. There is zero transition between getting off your EUC and walking into a store, your office, your home. It is so convenient that I use it to take the trash in and out in addition to commuting to work in about half the time it would take to drive.

The only potential downside to these things is safety. If your motor blows out you are likely seriously injured. An e-bike can coast. Wear a motorcycle helmet and full knee and wrist and elbow guards.

Don't get one that can't go 30 miles an hour or you won't use it because it's not significantly faster than bicycling. Don't ride it above 20 miles an hour because you might like all your parts to work when you're older. Smilie

Exactly, it's the immovable objects that are dangerous. I've gone off the motorcycle at over 100 MPH several times on a track and it's no big deal... because no solid objects to hit.

If folks want safety on public streets, that means driving a cage around with airbags. Otherwise, probably similar risk as riding a bicycle.

As far as looking cool, all the kids in the neighborhood know I look like a rock star. The adults just haven't figured it out yet.

There was a post on the electric unicycle subreddit within the past week of someone pushing their device too hard going up an incline in cold weather and they crashed at ~50mph. They had no broken bones, no road rash, no sprains, no ligament tears, etc, because they were properly geared.

I'm not suggesting it would be a pleasant experience. But with proper gear and an understanding of how to fall, a crash at 40+ on an EUC is no more dangerous than falling while riding a motorcycle. I'm a generally risk-averse person, but the EUC riding experience for me is absolutely worth the risk. I've not ridden motorcycles so I can't validate this, but I've heard people say that 45+ on an EUC is comparable in thrill/feel to 120+ on a sport bike on the interstate. Having absolutely nothing around you at all, no handlebars, one wheel, zooming along like Aladdin on a flying carpet, it's a safer crash speed than the amount of danger needed to get that kind of rush in/on other vehicles.

More than u think, we just don't make as much noise as the younger crowd. I'm 48 and I rip pretty hard, there are several people in my area that are around my age, a few much higher that rip 2.

it's a funny hobby. Half the riders are teenagers to college age, the other half are 45+ year old men.

There are no other riders EEK!

It took about a year for my AC joint to heal after I was run off the road on my Gotway T2 by a scooter. The notion that one can know how to fall on these is a bit silly if the fall is unanticipated. I knew I was falling after I got up alive (that last part was a pleasant surprise). I was purposely geared up but that doesn't protect the joints.

I still use it all the time. But I tend to stick to lower speeds and be more conservative.

I get the feeling that enthusiasts just need multiple wheels.

With the Glide 3 being so small and portable, I'd throw it in the car on just about any trip...

There is an intermittent issue with my car where sometimes the last 2 gallons of fuel is not accessible and the car dies just before the low fuel light turns on. With the wife and kids in the car, I coasted off the highway and parked, then grabbed the Glide and rode the 3 miles uphill to the petrol station and bought a 1gal fuel can and got a gallon of fuel, then rode back. Had the car running again in about 25 minutes on a road that was out in the middle of nowhere (tow truck would have taken hours).

My wife thought it funny to document the ordeal
https://ecomodder.com/forum/attac...1642442123

Anyhow, my point is I might not take a wheel everywhere if it's too big to fit in the footwell in front of kids.

Very much looking forward to the Master and suspension. I often make trips back and forth with camping gear out into the forest, and it gets tricky carrying 60lbs of gear and hitting roots and loose soil on the Glide. Also push the limits on steep hiking trails with rocks and roots. My one concern though is that the Glide was light enough that if I lost control and started to send it down a cliff edge, I could easily hang onto it. I'm not going to be able to just hang onto an 80lb thing that's trying to fall off a cliff.

inmotion makes the most highly polished products, begode gives the most performance per dollar. king song maybe in between the two for price and performance

get a king song with ajustible air mountain bike suspension if you want mid range performance and good shocks. get the inmotion v11 if you can handle the looks, that's selling the best on a lot of sites now bc of the good discount for a midrange wheel with shocks
Quality wise, Leaperkim is top

There's a reason why they call these 'eunuch-cycles'.
