I don't have cable but I do have YT premium and premium Hulu. I'd gladly pay plenty extra for no ad/no cookie decline pop up web. That's what's next.

I kinda miss Saturday Live Live even though it generally sucks now. Peacock has the all the old seasons and the new ones come on Sunday mornings. Worth $20 for me to get thus.

I have read this thread but I am not sure if I understand how an upgrade from Premium to Premium Plus works with this offer.

I paid for the $19.99 annual plan and have an Amex credit of $5.99 for November, so 1 year cost $14. A pretty good deal. In the account I see the option to add the Plus ad free option for $6/mo. Can I do that in December and January and take advantage of the $5.99 Amex credits (the other two of three) so essentially 2 months of ad-free for $0.01 each and then revert back to having no Plus for the rest of the year? Has anyone tried adding and then dropping Plus to an annual plan in the past and can confirm if that works?

I let Peacock go.

Even though I'm pretty sure I had a no-ads version, maybe the changed something after I signed up? They kept playing ads at me.

There's also not much on there I wanted to see. I thought The Continental would be good, but it really just started putting me to sleep. Nope, it's a recently departed from me service and it's going to stay that way. Pass.

I know the sign-up and immediately cancel thing is popular among SDers, but isn't the slicker move to hold the subscription til expiration and cancel then for a retention offer?

I don't have a Roku device yet is that what you needed to get the free Roku channels forgive my total ignorance I'm 65 years old and trying to learn
Yes. Actually I have a TCL Roku tv, so it's built in, but the Roku devices work the same. It's extremely easy. My mom's 73 and has done great navigating around with Roku and getting an over the air antenna too

If youre an Xfiniy internet subscriber, get yourself a free Flex box and you get Peacock Premium for free...not only on that device, but on any device that you log into Peacock Premium. I dont even us the Flex box now, just installed the app on two TVs and free access.
i think it's because you have x1 or the giga internet. I'm paying $30 plan and they stopped the free peacock earlier this year

Because let's say I get this deal for 20 bucks a year... And the Hulu deal for 99 cents a month, plus the Disney offer for 2 bucks a month and that's all I need with an over the air antenna, plus all the free Roku channels. I've paid 56 dollars for 3 streaming services for the year, have all the network channels thru the antenna and all the hundreds of channels offered for free thru Roku. I was paying 130 a month for satellite TV.... And you know what I still had to watch thru DirecTV paying that 130 a month... Commercials.
That's a lotta hoops to jump through to "cut the cord".

Good summary.
But I do have to correct you that HBO, Disney, etc. Didn't have commercials in the middle of the movies. I think that is the biggest issue with commercials for me. I am fine with them in TV shows.
On the other hand, I also am fine watching ads if it is free. I love Tubi for example.
You're right about commercials not being shown during movies and such with cable or satellite. It is a slight adjustment but for the price difference of what I was paying compared to now I'm ok with it and have learned to adjust back to my days as a kid when you had no way around commercials. Commercial time now just means it's bathroom breaks and snack time!

If signing up for 3 streaming service deals once per year is "A lot of hoops" for you to save hundreds of dollars - you might be on the wrong website...
