No 1 - I got a little something from most every (other) major player. No real jumping through hoops required. I kept my $25 from Samsung/Microsoft specifically for BF/CM (no Xbox). Prime Video has had the nightly $5 give away & the Marriott/Firestick ad. Even GPS's $10 newsletter sign up.
No 2 - Google & Amazon "give" out vid money regularly. So every day's a sale on my wishlist.
No 3 - their very often lackluster Tuesday sale releases are almost always an adventure. Various items' drop times may vary. Prices may not drop on all sites & formats at the same time. Duration is subject to change without notice. More than one has come & gone in less than an hour.
No 4 - Vudu's app really really s##ks
No 5 - their competition has gained on them. Movies Anywhere is a beautiful thing.
No 6 - ...which brings me to the lessening commitment to my existing Vudu movie library.
No 7 - their competition has increased with Gruv & Fanflix & the like. Microsoft to some extent too. A lot of the better digital sales are matched by all the usual suspects. Lots of hard discs include bonus digital copies, which spreads the market out a little further.
No 8 - say anything you want about iTunes (& I don't have many good things to say). But they've been blowing the doors off everyone else's sale prices... Maybe it's worth mentioning MA, again? Or that up upscaling thing they do...?
They call sales "promotions" for a reason. Vudu needs to know they have just promoted a huge amount of resentment in all of the competition's newest & increased traffic
...and they totally did it to themselves.
Hilarious considering any time I sent an email with a problem in the past it took them 4-6 months to respond.
The code THANKS40 for Trains, Planes & Automobiles was all "redeemed" yesterday.
Since the code for Elf is also THANKS40, does that mean there isn't even the pretense of deal for 11/26?
I have seen not a single post from anyone in this thread that got the deal.
I bet they didn't have more than 10 actual codes available.

A sale that's advertised for hours but isn't available for one full minute is false advertising. No matter the legalities of any "limited" disclaimers.
Vudu should get the fallout they fully deserve for being this kind of sleazy.
