Not sure that person knew what they were talking about as others have mentioned likely differences.
I did end up buying the 12 inch standard though and it's nice. I will say, if you're on the heavier side (I'm ~200lbs), I'd go for the firmer 10 inch. I wish I had. This mattress does sink in after a few months.
I think from my research that's just natural settling in, but it made it less comfortable for me. The firmer one would be better for slightly heavier folks I'm betting.
Anyway, for $200 I would say this is a pretty dang good deal based on my experience with the standard.
The mattress I HAD was a medium, and after 7-8 years it had become unbearable. A couple springs were poking up, and it was sinking in certain areas.
This firm is exactly what I needed (back/stomach sleeper).
It's a lot firmer than what I expected from a bed in a box. The top 1" layer of foam is soft, but the mattress has very little give overall. To me, it's a good compromise between my previous medium mattress and sleeping on a hardwood floor. I've seen it described as a 6-7/10 firmness - like I said, I'm not an expert, but I'd probably put it at a 7-8/10. I'm not sinking into it at all.
It inflates in about 10 seconds once fully unwrapped. No real off gassing or fumes to speak of, only a slight smell. It's one sided. I've seen people complain about the edges on similar models, but the edge support on the firm feel about as good as my prior spring mattress. It inflated to the full 10", if not slightly more.
I'm just now waking up on day 4 and I'm very comfortable lying here.
Obviously I can't speak for how well it will hold up, but I'm happy with my purchase for now.

Signature 12":

So the signature has 5 layers vs 3 on the standard. the 14" standard seems to have 4 layers (2" foam base layer).

I'm currently sleeping on a no-name hybrid bed in a box and if I needed a mattress right now I would absolutely pull the trigger on this.
I would go firm and customize with toppers as needed. The good ones are pricey but worth it. You can make a bed more soft but not really effectively more firm.

I've no idea. I was also trying to google the difference, the only thing I could find was a Reddit post saying they're pretty much the same!

We paid around $1,500 for the Aurora and around $250 for the one from Walmart. The packaging and set up was exactly the same. I would not hesitate to buy the Walmart version to replace the Aurora.

We tried both BB Signature Hybrid (4 years+) and Standard (recently bought) as we couldn't take the former with us when we moved hours away.
From our experience with the 10 inch mattresses, the Signature provided better support overhaul BUT the Standard has been a strong and cheaper alternative so far, no regrets at all.
If I had to recommend something, get yourself a good box spring and try to avoid bed slats, it's a game changer.

get extra firm for the bottom two and medium for the top.
great support and will sleep cooler than anything.
these are the most expensive parts of premade beds, make it your entire bed for less.
I have old mattresses with box springs. Can these mattresses go on top of a box spring or does it need a foundation/base?
