If your ISP provides the kind of speed this cable supports and you have that high speed plan, it makes sense to buy this. Else pick a standard cat6 cable should do just fine.

if you have eqiupment to fully support 40gbs. you wouldn't want to use copper cable for connection.
you would use multi mode fiber.

I like it for practical reasons, like I can tell the cable apart from other cables. I run one between my modem and router. So many cables down there, less interference sounds good.
Google search excerpt:
"If cost were no object then Cat8 would be the perfect choice today. It's freer from interference and cross-talk, and offers faster data transmission speeds than Cat6 and Cat6a. These days Cat8 can be found in data centers where quality and transmission rates matter, and where operations typically involve quick loading ..."

Very thin wire, do not buy, completely overpriced for the amount of copper you are getting.

From the Q/A section:
These ultra thins do not last either, never use them for anything serious or better yet not at all.

No idea if it's a decent cable or not but it's absolutely not to Cat 8 spec.

Listen most of you, fiber is preferred over cat8 rj45 when you go 20gbps, 40 gbps, etc.
