During checkout Zip took all my information, including payment method, then decided I was "not eligible for installments with this purchase." The silver lining though is that they are retaining my information. Applause

Crypto is dead. Covid is no longer shutting down business. There is no reason for the price to be this high. Just stop buying at ridiculous prices and they will come down to normal prices.

This model has an extra fan and better heat sink compared to the reference model. So you get better cooling for the same price.

AI workloads are replacing crypto mining. nVidia is raking in Billions from their data center business. They are no longer a gaming company but an AI hardware company. Their cards are more energy efficient for AI computation than AMD, which is what matters to data centers. They don't need to sell cards for gamers to stay in business anymore. They've recently shut down production of the 4070 to decrease the supply. They'd rather not make them than sell them cheap. Sucks, but gamers have little influence on them anymore.

That's fair, but you don't really need that on this card. 4070 is pretty efficient with more than adequate cooling in standard designs since many AIBs just used mostly the same cooler as the 4070 Ti. The only reason 4070 models often don't fit in many SFF builds is because there still aren't many bespoke cooler designs, rich is a shame.

Unfortunately the 7800 XT is in a similar situation.
