As long as you're ok with the bigger form factor, this is the best Chromebook (or laptop) for the price. It's a high res 120Hz screen and a 12th gen i5 processor. Nothing else comes close at the price point.

It was well reviewed [pcmag.com] even at the original price.

I am blown away with this product for the price, I mainly use this product to do stock trading and the screen real estate is insane. I never knew Chromebook was this good!!!

Returning mine as well. Received just an hour ago. Laptop is incredibly slow and apps are crashing left and right. My item wasn't repaired adequately it would seem... That's the risk you take with a refurb. Very unfortunate.

I understand this is a chomebook while the the other one is a Windows machine but the processor in this chromebook seems more powerful than the Ryzen. Any comments?

How is the fan noise on the Acer Spin 714 both in volume and pitch?

How is the screen resolution downgrade after having experienced the Acer 516 GE?

I assume you've put your ear to it everywhere to check for capacitor whining (or whatever afflicted both our 516's?

I haven't heard any noise at all -- the 714 is super quiet. Just put my ear to it and still don't hear a thing. Although the screen resolution on the 516 is amazing, the one on the 714 is perfectly fine for my purposes -- no complaints.

No. The RAM is soldered to the mainboard. You can upgrade the SSD though.

I bought mine and immediately installed windows 11 using https://coolstar.org/chromebook/w...stall.html.

Wasn't that hard, just had to remove the battery to disable the write protection to run the lines. The only thing is the audio drivers you have to pay 10 dollars but they're not really stable. It causes random crashes sometimes and it's totally random but happens after hours, sometimes days later. The laptop itself is great and runs perfect when it's running on windows 11. I hope someone releases new drivers or something.

This makes this the currently cheapest laptop for these specs for windows as well

Got my refund today after sending the Chromebook back a week ago. Ebay acknowledged receipt of the device two days ago.

I really wish it had not arrived with both the Bluetooth and Wifi malfunctioned. The display was really better than portable device I use on a daily basis.
