I'm hesitant to get into yet another battery eco system. Skil 12V pwrcore tools are generally well reviewed and the auto hammer is unique. The only other version I seen before is the Craftsman Nextec ones over 10 years ago. I believe it's the same OEM, Chervon behind both Nextec and Skil.

I need to find a good source for Nextec compatible batteries too.
Mastercraft, Menard's house brand, had a 12v line that was probably also by Chervon. The form factor was nearly identical to Nextec and the batteries were cross compatible with minor modding.
