Not worth the money in my opinion. 7840HS is no doubt powerful, but because it can run at higher power, not for any architecture or core advantages. Now inside a big gaming laptop, that becomes a major factor because those can run the CPU at way higher TDP, near to 80W, for longer durtaion and on those scenarios, 7840HS can be significantly faster than a 7840U.

But in these slim and light small 14" laptops, with limited cooling, hardly the CPU can run at those kind of higher power and most cases they are maxed out to 35W-45W and the performance gap noarrows down due to that.

With the $150 off $1000 AmEx credit, it makes this super tempting. It's a lot of computer for $850+tax.

10%? You can stack with another portal? Amex website makes it look like you need to click through from their site.

Yes, you can google "hp cashback". It's one of the major cashback sites. And no, for amex you only need to charge it to the card. Just make sure to add the amex offer before making the purchase and you should be good to go. Easy ~$250 off

Use a browser plugin of that website. Go the product page from Amex deals, enable the CB from the browser plugin and you'll get both.

Only 64GB? Pfft. Good enough for my grandma and her one Chrome tab.

Chase has 5% back if you have the offer to enable on your card (Chase Sapphire Preferred)

It looks like you need to not be logged into an account to use the code.

This laptop looks awesome on paper, but the lack of reviews makes me cautious when I'm looking at spending $1K.
