Good deal. Wish you could get the first set with the sub instead of the center.

What happened to all the individual speaker deals from Adorama?

What's the best AVR to buy with this set if I get an additional 1400SW for $700 to pair?

Are there any other bookshelves rather than Floor Standing speakers that would compare in quality to these or is this really the setup to get?

Struggling with it since floor standing gets in the way of a closet and shelves in my living room, which is large (16'x30'x8') that I am going to use for my theater.

Denon x3800h or x4800h have had some good sales lately. Both very solid. I haven't been super impressed with my current yamaha and miss my old denon. Have also had good luck with onkyo high end but haven't kept up with them and no idea as to their current quality.

RP 600M & later versions may be instead of floor standing

Why exactly? What's different between the Yamaha and Denon

Less intuitive modes and settings and e-arc doesn't work consistently. It's good value otherwise if none of that matters to you.

I was wondering that myself. I replaced an old Onkyo with a Yamaha and the sound is definitely softer on the Yamaha. Is there a sound difference between the two?

I've been stuck with this yamaha for a few years now and never did A to B with the same speakers but I want to say yes. Hard to justify replacing working stuff. The only reason I got rid of the denon was moving into a tiny apartment and sold my giant setup as a full package deal. The onkyo I had was great but ditched that because it didn't have 4k pass thru.

AS far as a receiver/amp get the best one you can and it will last you for a very long time and you will not have to upgrade. Marantz makes tonally fantastic Av receivers, some of my favorite units. I love the MArantz SR8015(made in Japan!), it's there flagship model, it can do just about anything you would ever want it to and expand all you want as well for future use. Right now there is a huge sale on them. Normally they are north of $3,000+ but they are being cleared out on a limited stock deal right now for $1,999 and no tax to most that I have seen get one (depends on your state)... Also, you could use paypal if you have a chase card w/ 5% categories and save another $75.. Now, on your speakers issue, I have been using Klipsch for 20 years and have tried just above all of the rp line over the years. I strongly recommend the Rp-600 M II's (newest model) which right now are a steal at $419... they normally cost $700+. this is the newest version with the larger, smother horn and the new beefier Woofer design plus it has better posts and internal bracing to name a few. Comes in black and a nice walnut... There you go, that is what I would recommend. hope it helps.. any ??, just ask, it turkey day so I'm paying it forward! lolApplause

Yes I got burned by the Onkyo HDMI pass through issue a few years ago. They wouldn't RMA. And I swore that I won't buy it again. So I ended up with a Yamaha. Same speakers and it was definitely softer especially movies.

Appreciate it! Do you think the RP600M IIs would fill a 16'x26'x8' room, or do you think the floorstanding RP-8000/8060FS IIs would be better? I could make them fit, aesthetically I think my wife will already struggle a bit with 2 large subwoofers in our living room, haha. I think the Ebony might fit our white room a bit better, is the Walnut that nice?

I have 4 Rp 600's and they will be fine for your room. they can get real loud, very articulate and be very clean if need be. keep in mind, it has the same horn as the 8000's. Of course the 8000's will sound a bit fuller by default because they have (2) 8" drivers if your listening to them stand alone , however, if using 2 subs then that is of no issue to you. The 8000's bass is low & loud but I would not say it's completely "clean", I can say the 600's bass response is more composed for lack of a better word. I can easily use the 600's as main fronts in my set up w/ no issue. Forget about the 8060 completely. they are huge tanks and honestly a gimmick, I tried them out here for a week and they SUX. The atmos part is just terrible and they are huge.your paying more for a much larger cab to get the atmos top but it really is not good at all, otherwise they sound like the 8000's. As you know klipsch RP line is excellent, the only small short coming is that your giving up a bit of mid range as they are 2 way speakers, however, the Klipsch "sound" makes that almost a push. When you go up to there heritage line, then you really get a smoooth sound with outstanding imaging. Also, as I mentioned, I would grab one of those Marantz Sr8012's as your not going to get anything close to it for under 2K. It really is a high end unit. there is a post on it on here for that deal w/ limited stock as a call in deal, there was a 6700 also but that sold out in a few hours where sd'ers gobbled those right up as the price was fantastic at $1375. So, If space is a concern and then there is the WAF, then go with the 6000M ii's otherwise, if you want the large towers only do the 8000's as the 8060's are a complete waste. Anything else ,let me know.. As far as color, that is up to your taste , go on the klipsch site to see the colors up close. Ebony is fine. I jus tlike the walnut as it has a nice classic look to it , but all of that is subjective..

Honestly if you have a decent subwoofer, you'd be hard pressed to notice a difference between the 600M & 8000s.
