Great price. Could flip it locally if you don't like it. Pretty decent quality for the price.

Great deal! Purchased this last year, quality is pretty good, it is a compact guitar though.

Is this any good for learning to intermediate skill?

I picked up one of these a year ago when it was about the same price. It's been a fun little (parlor size) guitar to leave out in the family room to pick up and noodle on, and cheap enough I don't have to worry about it getting damaged. That being said - you get what you pay for. Buy a Snark while they are also on sale cheap this weekend, and be prepared to use it. The tuning pegs on this thing are what you'd expect on a $100 guitar. Be prepared to frequently retune it frequently over an evening.

Maybe? It's parlor size, so good for a small child. But for an older child or adult, I think the best deal is the Fender CD-60 V3. While it's $200 retail, it comes with a decent hard case, that honestly is worth half the cost of the guitar. And the guitar itself is just made better. Although it is a full size dreadnought.

I think so. All guitars will require someone experienced to tweak a few settings to make it playable (string height, neck relief etc) commonly called a "setup." So, with a setup this would be a great living room guitar to learn on. In the future if you start playing out , electronics could always be added. Go for it! Plus I love have a guitar cheap enough to " live" in the living room. Having a guitar hanging on a wall or sitting out will make you grab it and play it all the more. I love cases for my nice guitars, but I play my "couch guitar" a ton, because it's there!

Having played both, I think the $50 Boroughs Travel guitar is the much better value, if you can do setup and file fret-ends. The Jim Dandy wins on looks though.

YMMV - had one for about a year as well and don't have tuning issues on mine? Agree the quality of the tuners is meh, but not awful IMHO. Also just remembered I lubed the nut before I re-strung, so that might help as well?

So there are some people that have had some cool mods for this guitar.

Deal. I've had mine for a year plus, the something blue color around maybe $170. Boxy sound, parlor so light and limited resonance. The matte finish is butter. I slug it to lessons and dont worry about scratches tossing it around or in my bag with my books and placeholder clips, and sits by the couch for practice.

All the colors they have a really good, otherwise I'd have gotten this. Tuners are pretty cheap and my "B" will hop in the nut or I have a twisted string, but did so on two sets. Anyway, not a bother.
