Stop spreading BS. I use S&S all the time. The first one is locked in at the price you pay at time of ordering. It literally gives you an order receipt with price on it. It's like a pending charge which completes upon shipment. Every other order goes by current price at shipment date.
Your first shipment is the price you originally order the item for....thereafter it's whatever it is at the time of shipping. Just order and then cancel the subscribe and save....done this 100s of times.
Is that new? I thought your first shipment was at the price at the time of order, then the price could go up/down on subsequent shipments.

Careful if you subscribe and save. Amazon will raise the price you pay at time of shipment to the current price.

It used to be like that awhile ago but not anymore and now there is a disclaimer that it can change. Amazon has been going downhill fast imo. They've also removed down voting q&a answers, hidden q&a answers so you can't browse them and have to search by term, positive reviews are always in the "top reviews" section of a product even when the negative reviews have way more helpful votes, etc... They know everyone defaults to search for products on Amazon and trust the reviews, so they showcase the rainbows and butterflies version of products and hide or remove anything possibly negative. Very deceptive.

The trick to S&S is to use it for the discount then cancel it once you receive the shipment. Unless it's something you regularly use.

No, there has been a change. If your first delivery is a couple weeks away and the price increases between the time you set up the order and when they ship (and charge), you're charged the higher price. Just happened to me.

Is this good for working on appliances? I'm tired of getting my hands and fingers cut.

Only on the second shipment. It used to do what you describe maybe 15 years ago. How you can prove this to yourself: it places the actual order for the first shipment at the time you subscribe.

I noticed the change in how they display questions and answers. Essentially, it is almost impossible to find questions and answers unless you're able to do some gymnastics to get to them, and even then they are very difficult to use because they disappear while you're trying to read them.

I chuckled at seeing a Subscribe and Save offer for these. You might need a subscription. I wear holes in the fingertips all the time. However, they are comfortable for working.

Ansi cut ratings from A1 to A9.

So if you need the Best, A9 gloves

Eg https://cestusline.com/collections/a9

A7 to A9 ought to suffice.
