What I don't understand is the fact that we have to pay tax on a refurb item. They were already charged tax when sold as new. Why do we have to pay tax over and over? This is theft.

That's a valid concern. Battery health is unknown until it's in your hands. I bought two Apple Watch 7 SS refurbs from Target. One had 96% battery health and the other 100%. I returned the one with worse battery health and kept the other. Might be worth doing here so long as returns are easy to do. I'm not sure how much Apple charges to replace the battery in the Ultra but I'd guess around $100.

FWIW I bought mine when they first released and use /charge mine daily. I have 98% battery health remaining

They do guarantee 85% min battery health if you read the description.

Just have to give a shout-out to the Ultra. I got one as a gift and have had the Apple Watch since the series 1...and the Ultra is honestly worth it. Sadly don't think I'll ever be able to go back after using it. It's the only one that's actually scratch proof (I've had the series 1, 3, 6, and now Ultra)
