Fantastic drone, absolute workhorse. Much faster and more powerful than the Mini 3/4 Pro if you need to fly in windy environments or plan on flying payloads. If a quieter or smaller drone is your priority go with the Mini Pros. I own both and while I do love the Mini Pro the Air 2S remains my daily driver. The Air 2S also has an ADSB receiver built-in so you can watch nearby aircraft and get warnings on the map as you fly.

Extra refurb batteries are cheap from DJI on eBay, around $40/ea last time I checked. You'll spend at least twice that for extra batts on the Mini 3/4 Pros.

How would this be for newbies in drone world? I keep saying I'm going to buy a drone, and keep looking at mini 3 or 4 but haven't pulled the trigger. By the sounds of your review this is a much better option at a great price.

Does this have "return to you button" or auto return if battery is low? Obstacle avoidance is good? I don't have to worry about crashing it on my first flight? Lol.

I think the mini 3 and 4 pro series are a better bet for beginners. More forgiving and less intimidating for people trying on drones for the first time. I had the pro 3 and loved it. Thinking of going to pro 4 rather than 2s. Mavic 3 is a better bet but thats another league.

And the Mini3 already has some advantages over the Air2s that the Mini4 will just pile on, such as flight time, portability, USBC battery charging (and in-drone battery charging, I assume), better obstacle tracking, etc..

Mini 3 pro vs A2S
Better stills Mini 3 pro
Better Video A2S, Mini does only 8bit no hlog.
Better Wind stability A2S
More compact Mini 3 pro
Portability, Charging USB C on Drone Mini 3 pro

Not sure what the Mini 4 pro adds in way of video.
A2S is the better choice if you do a lot of higher end 4k video.
For pretty much everything else, the Mini 3 pro is the better choice.

Careful buying refurbished dji drones. I purchased one from best buy and it was still locked to a dji account so it was unusable. They replaced it with another one and it was locked to an account as well. They ended up refunding me but it was a pain in the butt.

This looks to be DJI refurbished, so perhaps better than Best buy?
