i placed the order for the digital gift card first and typed in the code. took 5 minutes then i got the gift card and an email saying i got my promotional balance applied to my account instantly.
went to buy the physical gift card next and the $15 credit applied knocking that down to $85 along with giving another $10 promo credit

I clipped a $10 Amazon credit offer on the physical Apple gift card and it won't apply the promo code for $15 now. Be careful not to clip that $10 deal

Absolutely do not forget to apply that code. Amazon support won't help you after the fact. Gonna have to take the L on this one for not paying closer attention.

Amazon was of no help with the Lyft gift card. They told me to contact Lyft. I chatted with Lyft and was told that the "specialize team" will get in touch with me via email.

For anyone thinking about buying the Lyft gift card - DO NOT DO IT

I applied the code on the Apple GC. The code did apply on the app. And I instantly got the $100 GC. But got no email confirming the $15 credit. And if I try to buy something else in Amazon no $15 credit applies. Those who got it, did the Amazon credit email come instantly?

Edit - never mind. The second email arrived 5 min later.

What kind of scam is this?

Just bought a Lyftcard for $80. Went to apply it in the lyft app. Gift card error. There's an error with your gift card . Checked it multiple times. Even got rid of the spaces in the numbers. Have never had any problems before.

Arguing with Amazon about an invalid gift card is gonna sock. That $20 discount is going to be paid for with an hour arguing on the phone with either lyft or Amazon.

Ah crap. I wish I had read down the list of comments before doing it. I'm in the same exact boat as you right now with a useless Lyft card.

Same here. Lyft GC not working for me. Contacted Amazon customer service. This is their response

"sorry to hear that you've issues Branded Gift Card's . Unfortunately, Gift card is showing as Claimed from our end & branded Gift Card's can't be replaced or refunded."

Wth am I supposed to do now?

Well technically, the Target deal with $15 GC on Apple Card is better cause it's a gift card. Which means it has no expiry. Amazon is giving credit that expires in 1 and 1/2 month. Of course, most of us will definitely use the credit in time. But it's difficult to make an argument that promo credit is like cash when it has an expiry. I do wish they had a straight up gift card like Target did.

Anyone know if they switched the promotional credit to auto apply now instead of typing in the code?
From what I see during checkout:
Qualifying offers
One per account. Purchase $100 or more in Apple eGift Cards, get a $15.00 Promotional Credit towards your next eligible purchase. You will receive the credit and email confirmation that the credit has been applied to your account within 24 hours; this credit does not show in your gift card balance. It can be used on eligible products shipped and sold by Amazon.com until January 17, 2024.

Edit: Mine somehow auto applied. I did receive the promo credit with the digital apple card almost immediately after purchase. The physical card I think will show up when it ships.

Are you sure it's not already clipped? If so it'll show up in the checkout page. Also note that the promo codes are different for the digital vs the physical.

I bought the $100 digital Apple GC. Received the $15 credit. And then bought the $100 physical GC. Not only it promised me $15 credit, it instantly applied the $15 credit from my previous digital order. So my second GC cost me $85.

If you bought the digital card but didn't receive any email, just add apple gift card (physical) and proceed to.checkout, $15 promotional credit will appear, you can either buy the second one for 85 or just discard the cart after promotional credit shows up
