The mfg quality on these is worse than anything I've ever bought. Frays and splits in multiple places within weeks. Sew one spot, another opens up the next day.

Agreed! These are disposable jackets. I bought one two years ago, it seemed a little stiff, but not bad, but it fell apart after a few months of light wear.
