I believe that if u have any no-rush shipping rewards, they will automatically be applied to the order (assuming you are buying the download, not the disc, version of turbotax) unless you uncheck "use promotional balance" on the Select Payment Screen. My guess is you had $4 of no-rush credits that were subtracted from the purchase price.

Yeah, could be. Seemed odd to me since it's a download. Carryover credits explanation makes sense.

Costco has it for the same price but include a $10 in-product purchase credit, if you have the membership there.

I mocked the check out and had a $3 credit from slow shipping. I tried to game this one year where I did everything slow shipping. For some reason that year they didnt take digital credits. Looks like they are doing it again?

And I remember last year the Amazon credit card from Chase had a "$10 credit towards Intuit purchases" around March/April so when you e-file the state return using the Amazon card it counted towards that. It was under the "Chase Offers" section on the Chase website when viewing your Amazon card there.

Edit: I am currently seeing a $10 TurboTax cash back offer on my Chase Freedom Unlimited card (expires April 30, 2024) but not my Amazon Chase card. Looks like the offer switched cards this year.

Turbotax has made a change for the worse this year:
