I know we don't have a Time Machine for a few days ago but unless I'm mistaken this 50lb set was just $199 on woot (see notes in editors notes section on this link https://slickdeals.net/f/17074843-powerblock-sport-exp-stage-2-dumbbell-expansion-kit-50-70-lbs-pair-90-more-free-s-h-w-amazon-prime)

The ones in this post are the Elite. The one from woot is not Elite.

The Elite is the older model with the square plates and narrow grip opening because of the two thick bars on the side.

The woot deal for the Sport EXP is the newer model with the shaped weights and open grip cage (no side bars).

Well! Good information. I grabbed the deal from woot with 90lb and the stand. Didn't know that's newer version.

Wait so is this the current version or an older one?

Technically, the Elites are the current model as they're no longer showcasing the Sport EXP on the Powerblock site. I suspect they're discounted.

I am not sure. This site also shows different models in the pictures, so it is confusing. At first I thought it was the Elite USA based on their text. I ended up getting the 90lb version.

I sent an email requesting more information.

I have the Elite EXP set through 70lbs and they've been nothing short of amazing for the 5ish years I've had them.

Fun note: if your gripping handle ever feels loose, it's as simple as tightering the nuts on either end. Don't think it's just broken like I did for a week and workout somewhat precariously 🤣. This happened maybe 3 years in and never since.

Amazing quality product and very responsive company the few times I had questions.

Edit: wanted to note that I bought this stand in Feb, 2019 and it's been amazing ever since as well: https://www.amazon.com/PowerBlock...137&sr=8-4

They keep selling the Elite because it has remained popular over the years. Some people prefer the square shaped weights (smaller form factor) and the narrow grip cage opening as they use the side bars also as grip handles in certain exercises (like triceps extensions, dumbbell squats etc).

Just don't think "Elite" means a better model. It has the same materials and construction. And I've seen it sell for closer to $200 for the stage 1 kit.

Fyi, these prices are on par with the current sale going at Dicks Sporting Goods. It's not tax free but convenient for returns and/or if they come damaged.

yeah, this deal is only good because there is no tax and free shipping. Otherwise, nothing special.

I saw the sports were $200 recently. Initially, I thought these were the Elite USA 90 PowerBlock models when I purchased them and listed this deal, as the text on the website mentioned this. However, after purchasing, I realized the pictures showed two different versions. I asked them for clarification, and they said these are the Elite EXP. They have updated the website, correcting this.
