Got one of these a while back, great machine and a good gift.

Looks like the Black Friday discount is 10% off the machine with a free 32 pack of pods. In addition to 5 months of free subscription pods after ordering in your email.

Total is 192 pods essentially worth $360. First set is included w/ order. 32+(5*32)= 192 Pods

To claim the rest of the coffee open email after ordering for free 5 months coffee coupon subscription.

Different from K-Cups or Nespresso in that you can use your own whole beans or their pods. If you're a coffee nerd it has a really high end 48mm conical burr built in w/ several grinder settings.

huhh I'm a coffee nerd but this seems like actually the most pointless product. Why would you need a $700+ machine for making a pourover?
You can make an "end game" pourover with like ~$100 grinder + $60 kettle + $10 V60. If you really wanted to waste money you could probably upgrade the grinder to like a $2-300 grinder and then get a $150 Fellow Stagg. You need a fancy machine to pour water for you?

Any machine that uses pods will result in a subpar cup of coffee. And $800 is where decent (non Chinese) espresso machines start. 🤠

I have one cause i dont have the time & mental capacity to do one, making a pour over takes a lot of time out of the day

Admittedly I'm an aeropress guy and not a pourover guy so maybe the level of effort is higher than I'd expect? But at least for aeropress we're talking like 3-5 minutes including boiling the water. If I really wanted to save time, I'd move from manual to automatic grinder and get one of those Zojirushi instant boilers (maybe $3-400 all-in). Then the total time for a cup of coffee is maybe 2 minutes.
To each their own of course, and if you like the machine then great. I totally understand the hobbiest angle and have spent thousands of dollars on e.g. backpacking gear for fairly diminishing returns, but I genuinely feel like this product is a really odd premium product with a very limited market of individuals who happen to really like pour overs but don't want to pour over? lol

Good coffee does not need an app or Automation, it needs a little bit of knowledge and patience and I guarantee your cup will taste better then this over-engineered machine

If you're spending $700 to make coffee, you don't belong in this site.
You don't think people save money here so they can afford to spend a bit more on things they like, especially if they end up using it everyday?
I'd say if you drink coffee daily, then 1000 dollar is a very good investment, much better than those who spent 5000 dollar camera and only use it 5 times a year.

This aren't pre ground pods. So it doesn't have the same issues

I also don't see any benefit in the machine for me - but what is intriguing is the coffee. If thirdwave roasters would make single portions of beans that I put in my Ode Gen 2 and Clever it might hold some value negating the need to store and measure coffee.

Convince is it's a real bean to coffee machine. You just tap the coffee pod,. dump the beans, place the pod as a filter and press a button and that's it. It simulates all the steps required in drip coffee making. You can customize each stage in drip coffee making as well. It's pretty neat for $300 but $800 is too much money
