Actually yes they did, they fixed the drift issue. You can identify them by the serial number if yours ends at "A" you have the updated one , here's the website to know more about it. If you don't believe it google it, there's tons of resources and videos where they show the differences.

Do not buy extended warranty at gamestop people, remember they updated their policy and will give used items as replacement, the best warranty for controllers is best buy imo, brand new in store so you get it right away and no questions asked

I just did a quick google search, didn't really try hard to look into one that shows everything in detail. I'm just showing people what to look for, you can show someone the truth with videos or sites and still be in denial. I have 2 ps5 controllers (upgraded ones) and 1 ps5 pro control and none of them have drift issues.

Maybe a dumb question, but does Gamestop open the boxes and just leaves them empty on the shelf and they give you the controller on the counter and still label it as New? I don't know if it works just like their video games so I'm just curious before I place an order.

Maybe they updated (software wise) on the OG controllers to fix their drift issues, so far with the new versions of the ps5 controllers I haven't had that problem. I still play the same kind the games on ps5 that I had on ps4 and those all had drifts so I'm quite happy with not having to buy controllers because of that.

No, though given their MO I can see there being a small chance of getting a revised customer return of dubious condition.

Thanks. That's my biggest worry about placing an order just to save $5 off for in-store pickup. Given their practices of selling New games as opened, I'm worried I'd get an open controller.

No it should come in a sealed retail box like normal. If they just hand you a controller call out their scam

bought mine and immediately noticed drift. went to get a replacement. the worker there tried to refund me and get me a new one, but it would only let him refund the entire amount. he ended up just giving me an apple gift card to make up the difference, and gave me a new controller.

so basically got a $45 ps5 controller and a $22 apple gift card! that's slick

I'm guessing he had to pay full price for one. So he got the controller plus a gift card to make up the difference between the sale price and the full price.

no idea. they asked for my receipt and i guess they tried to refund the first one before they rang me up again for the new controller, but the first one in order to refund they couldnt match the discounted one for some reason, so they just added in a gift card to get to the original total, as if i had originally bought it. ill take it lol
