The printer dropped $20 from the $400 sale price.
Also, open box is $349.00.
There are also used 3d printers with a significant price reduction from the sale price.
I'm not too familiar with many 3D printers, so I don't have any recommendations.

That said, I did get an older model that did not have the updated extruder and hot-end with the one I got. I hopped on the chat support with Creality and they actually got me the updated parts in 2 days. I was shocked. I thought they would be coming from China.

The batch number on the side of the box is actually the manufacture date. Everything late July should be gtg from everything I have checked. Mine was the last part of June. If it really mattered you could probably refuse delivery when going to pick it up from BB...
Got lucky with the Amazon $550 Max and it's been flawless. I'm blown away how well it's been printing PETG flawlessly.
Mind you, I've built a number of Prusa's (MK2, MK2s, MK3, MK3s+) and an older lulzbot. I've also owned a few CubePro's. So, I know my way around a 3D printer. Those early K1's were "same old creality junk." But the newer revisions and more importantly firmware look just as good if not better than my buddies Bambu.
I plan on doing some upgrades, fatter belts and the improved belt tensioning, maybe carbon tubes with polymer bushings. We'll see how that effects print quality, especially VFA. But my friends Bambu P1S has bad VFA as well. My prusa is too slow for any VFA, actually that's been kitted out with a bmg & linear rails with ceramic ball bearings.
Luckily, I got all the extras from the regular K1: camera, extruder, & hotend which I already sold bringing my OOP cost down to $450. Hopefully I can sell those 5 rolls of PLA to bring it down to $400.
