Laminate. Rusted "faux" more like it.

I'm sort of interested. If you look at this as a 'disposable' drawer and not a family heirloom it can work. Going to browse through the reviews to see if there is a consistent issue and if that issue is serious enough.

Almost purchased until I saw the reviews, then ran away in the other direction screaming.

Great deal! I bought the 6 drawer dresser deal last Black Friday. It's equivalent in quality to IKEA's Malm dressers, except it has a handle (yay). It's pretty good for $60. Held up better than my IKEA furniture during my cross country move. Was fairly easy to assemble too.

Will it last 10 years? Probably not…but an amazing value if you're looking for furniture to last until your next big life move.

Also: the 5 chest version for this is $59, and the aforementioned chest I purchased last year is $79. OP I'd expand the posting.

Night stand is $20 as well.
I love the Malm and have had it for 15 years. I got the Mainstays a few years back and ended up giving it away. It was fine in terms of relative quality for price, however the difference in the drawer rollers was a major factor for me. The IKEA rollers are noticeably far superior. I agree it's a great temporary/budget option if that's what you're looking for.

This brand sucks, stop enabling them to make shitty furniture. I bought a bookcase made of same stuff and it warps just from a couple drops of water on it from plant on top

I also have a Malm 6 drawer dresser and the hind legs are falling apart and cracked after a couple years. Just like the Mainstays, they're particle board and don't hold up that well to moving. I agree the rollers are a bit superior 'feeling' but I don't think they're actually any better.

Both this and IKEA are transient furniture. Personally, I don't see me keeping any furniture I own for more than a couple years. Likely will marry by then and move in with my SO (assuming all keeps working out), and I'd want real furniture and start from scratch when starting a family.

So this is great if you're at a state of life where 5 years sounds like a really long time for furniture.

I bought these last year and I don't recommend getting them. The build is not great and it's hard to get all the dressers to open and close smoothly

I have a version/variant of this in white, similar price-point, from mid/latter '15…

It does the job for light/simple storage (vs. daily/regular usage). The pulls don't fit tight/well, drawer-bottoms are thin & without support so they can warp, plastic drawer panel fasteners can loosen/snap.

I've gone through (2) moves with it (somewhat regular use for 5-6 of those years, for clothing/accessories), it's held up. It doesn't scratch/dent/ding like the solid-wood chest of drawers I recently got (outer/top panels are a soft wood).

if you are going to buy the flatpack veneered particle board stuff, just go with IKEA
at least there is a warranty behind it, and they are happy to provide free replacement parts in the store and will mail out replacement parts free of charge. and even if they change the style of it, they still have the parts

This is like the ppl who buy a $30 schwinn bike and complain it's not as good as the $3000 schwinn bike. It's low cost and disposable, for temporary housing situations, or for poor people which Walmart caters to. If you treat it nicely, it will last a while. Better than no furniture at all.

A. I literally am buying for a trailer (from the 70s) for our "cabin."
B. A bit of wood glue and proper wood assembly goes a long way.

Get bad reviews if you spend over a 100$ but what you expect for 40$ for a dresser in for one

This is obviously a cheap piece of crap but are we saying this isnt worth 35 dollars? My requirements are that it can stand upright for 6 months hold some t shirts and socks and is not scribbled on in crayon with one side clawed out by a cat.

Where are these 39 dollar dense , cnc countersunk mdf dressers with decent vinyl wrapping?

I bought 2 because they are the same price as the plastic 24 inch storage drawers with steralite stamped on the front and seem that they look slightly nicer than that.

Took a chance and ordered one for a seldom used guest room.
