I bought this a few months ago for $475 from Samsung with the first responder discount. I ended up sending it back a few weeks later. The soundbar and sub are decent enough. The rear speakers are tiny and barely audible even at max volume.

Bought the Q900c for the same price. Gave me the flagship highest end soundbar and sub. Definitely a modest upgrade. Then added the 9500s rear speakers from best buy for an additional $125. Difference with these rears over the included ones with the Q910c was literally night and day. Total was $600 for everything. Up to the individual. But I personally could have never been happy with the q910c rear channels. And there is no way to upgrade them as they are attached to a proprietary module. And then are wired out from there.
For the price 910c sounds excellent. I own both 990c and 910c and I really can't tell the difference during my everyday use. The main difference between the HW-Q910C and its top model, the HW-Q990C, is the lack of the Acoustic Lens subwoofer, which may slightly affect bass quality. Other than that 990c is slightly wider than 910c however that is offset by a decent size wireless receiver that comes with 910c which connects the rear speakers and sub (can get kind of messy if you don't organize the wires). Lastly, 990c has better rear up firing speakers. However for an everyday normal user it's hard to tell these differences.

I wonder how good this sounds? I have what I think is the high end 2021 soundbar from Samsung and it really does sound good. I'm guessing this isn't their top soundbar for 2023, but maybe still pretty good? Would maybe be nice for another room in the house.

The specs say the 990C soundbar is also physically larger/wider than the 910C soundbar. Does that make much of a difference? I wondered if the number or size of the speakers inside the soundbars is also different between the 990C and the 910C?

I'm really on the fence because Samsung also has the top of the line soundbar+subwoofer (sold as the 900C) on sale for around the same price as the 910C system, so you can get the 900C now and then separately for around $175 add the surround speakers like the 9500S which are better (include upward firing speakers) than the surrounds that are included with the 910C.

Prices for the 910C and 900C have been as low as $500.. I wonder if we all see those prices again. Rkat has great cash back at Samsung right now.

It says 12% for "audio". Not sure what this fits under but probably waiting for the lower price.

I think Soundbar Technology still has a lot of potential going forth into the future. Def have heard a few in the past that I hated the sound of, but working in the industry now and hearing some higher end bars year over year theres def been some HUGE improvements in the technology some companies are implementing but we're still pretty far from actual Home theater processing and capabilities. All in all if you like the sound you dont need to upgrade, but if you hate soundbars, theres def bars nowadays that will blow some lower end speaker out of the water and be surprisingly convincing.

The width of a soundbar does make a difference, very few actually sound like they're spread out a great deal, most of them esp cheaper bars sound like sound only comes from the bar in front of you, some higher end ones sound like they produce sound with more distinct left and right, ever since Samsung bought out Harman they've been putting them to work w/ improving their sound bars heavily while you cant beat the physics of it they are certainly pretty good, generally the wider/longer the bar the better though.

You can add 9500s speakers to the 910c.
