Many layers here but in general you do not need a mixer for karaoke. The simplest home setup is to use something like what's pictured here as the "voice" speaker and your home entertainment center as the lyrics display and music play. (Using your home theater speakers for voice can damage them)

To get karaoke versions of songs you An application like KaraFun or YouTube both run very well on an Apple TV.

I started with a jbl party box 100 (very similar to this) and ran the audio output of my laptop to the input on the speaker and then an hdmi cable from laptop to television. To get the music and voice both coming out of the jbl.

It's a deep ocean and I don't want to threadjack any farther but In general yes something like this can make a great home karaoke setup.
Got mine and it does come with two microphones.

They should. They also have a holiday return policy.

Would I need a separate mixer for this or would this create the karaoke version of songs by itself?

Again deep ocean. Something as simple as the 10$ mics at Walmart are "fine" but for a nice wireless set I've personally had good luck with GUDEHOLO from Amazon other brands I know folks have used with success are fifine, phenyx pro.

Essentially all you need is a set with 1/4 trs out and they will plug right into the jbl. If the set has some mixing capabilities or effects like the fifine it can be even more fun.
