Amazon is selling the Hiboy S2 Pro Electric Scooter as a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale for $412.99. Fairly similar specs to the recent Segway frontpage deal that is refurbished. Might be a decent price if you want to go new for this level of scooter.

YMMV, but I had a 5% coupon available, bringing the total below $400.

No. Many people refer this Hiboy brand as "death trap" - very crappy quality. The G30 Max series is commercial/rental quality - the "tank". Just the fact that this has solid tires is a huge negative.

How is 25 mi range and 40 mi range similar spec? This is comparable to G30LP.

For just a bit more money I'd rather get the Hiboy S2 Max (40 miles range) for $470.

Range is admittedly a significant advantage of the Segway but many other specs that people care about, especially people that aren't using this primarily for commuting, are very similar:

Power is only 50 off (500 vs 550)
Max weight is 220lbs for both
10 inch tires on both
max speed is the same

If you're buying this for any other purpose than regular commuting and you are skittish about refurbs then the hiboy seems like a reasonable alternative, especially if you miss the segway deal which looks like it's now expired.

I used to be a big fan of HiBoy, I even posted a deal on this same scooter... but my
S2 Pro broke today after about 3 years. Rather than snapping off completely (luckily)
the front snapped halfway from normal use. I cannot use it anymore.

It's a known problem, google it.

I'm sad to say this but for safety reasons, avoid this scooter!

I am currently trying to fix it, but I don't expect it will work out.

If it does somehow, I'll post about it and describe what I did.

Trust me, avoid HiBoy. They snap in half, it's a known issue that I experienced myself.

I used to think it might be competitors trying to make them look bad, but it's true, sadly.

Anyone who insists on using a hiboy scooter even given the obvious dangers, at the very least wear a lot of protective equipment (Helmet, knee/elbow pads, gloves etc) and don't go over 10 mph. In addition, put as little weight as possible on the front of the scooter and pull/push as little as possible on the handlebars. Stay away from streets and cars.

I'd say your best bet is to sell it, but that would endanger the person buying it.

Mine broke at the stem (a common, known problem as they use sh*t aluminum) and I could have been badly hurt, or worse. I was lucky.

This might be a good alternative for $320 - supports 265 lbs rider (vs 220 lbs for hiboy s2 pro)
and otherwise exactly the same specs as hiboy S2 pro:
It even has left/right dual turn signals! (4 lights total, on handlebars and back of scooter)
