Wow. I haven't seen someone play written ping pong so much.
You're bouncing between so many different bodies and lens types that weren't even mentioned earlier, so few of which have any relevance in this context. All on top of "I didn't do my homework, so I might be confidently wrong."
To be fair, there are two conversations in there.
One is dslr VS mirrorless, and one is is the 5d4 worth it at this price.
My conversation was mainly about dslr VS mirrorless, and expressly said I could be wrong about the 5d4
5d Mk IV is an amazing camera... but to be honest it is the truth that whatever the DSLR can do a mirrorless can also accomplish with somewhat better specs. At the pricepoint, I would consider the Sony A7 III running around there for $1,300 with the EDU Account, unless you are 100% into the canon EF lenses world already.
I currently have a 5D Mk III and a Sony A 7 III and the Sony A 7 III does better with autofocus and versatility, I can only imagine that the 5d MK IV matches a little bit more that versatility.

"Accomplish with better specs" doesn't mean anything. The only Canon mirrorless with a better, higher resolution sensor is the R5. You don't take a photo with specs. Mirrorless are better at shooting fast action, but for landscapes, the 5DIV is very difficult to beat, especially at this price. It is also an incredibly well-built, durable camera, especially compared to Mirrorless at this sort of price.

In case you missed the nuance of what I meant about subtle compromises when adapting lenses
I didn't think there was a need to post the boring data, but you could possibly be "handicapping" expensive lenses designed for different camera systems by using off brand lenses.

I had done the research, just 10 years ago
