I signed up just to echo that MyQ is an awful company and should be avoided. While there's some risk that most smart home devices could be unsupported sooner than expected, with MyQ you know off the bat they are trying to turn your device into their recurring monthly/yearly payment.

Stay away from buying anything from MyQ, but especially their garage door controllers. For years, they allowed access to integrate their garage control with Homebridge/Home Assistant and, for me, these integrations worked 99% of the time since 2019. I never used the MyQ app except to setup the controller.
Now they have removed access to their API for these integrations. They claim it was because of security or performance issues. Well, security is BS, since you had to have a valid account and a garage controller to even access the API. Performance? They claim to have 10 million users, and then claim that only 0.2% are affected by the API deactivation. Well, how do 0.2% of users affect a system that handles 10 million users?
In actuality, they are now charging Tesla owners monthly to control their garage door from the car, and adding others with monthly fees. Also trying to charge monthly fees to have Google/Alexa/IFTTT integrations. So they don't want anyone getting free access to it.
And remember when I said myQ worked 99% of the time for me through Homebridge? Well, now that I've been having to use only the myQ app, I've had it not work to open the garage at least once a day for the last month, and everyday when I open the garage and close it when leaving, it will report to me that the garage door has been open for 15 minutes, when it has not. Never had this issue with Homebridge integration.
So, I've bought and installed a Meross MSG200. A more involved install than myQ, but now I have a more robust installation, with hardwired door sensors, and it responds faster and has not yet told me the garage door is open for more than 15 minutes.
So, in summary, don't buy anything from myQ, as they are anti-consumer, and their service apparently got worse after cutting off API access to a very small percent of users.
Also, this deal appears to be dead, as the price is $199.99 now. If you still care.

Love seeing all the MyQ hate. It is more than well deserved. Manufacturers need to stop forcing all these mandatory recurring payments to use their "smart" devices and let users have the option to locally control their own devices. It's not rocket science we are not asking them to store video. Their products shows door status and opens / closes the door. Pretty sure all smart locks do this for free without security risks. So MYQ hiding behind this is really scummy. I personally will never buy a myq product again with how they treat customers who have already purchased their products.
