Ordered two sets from Amazon and both boxes arrived ripped, beat up and bulging in the centers. Opened them up and there were sockets and broken tray fragments all over the place. 5 out of 6 trays were broken and I was missing two sockets in one set and 4 sockets and an extension in the other. I would make one good set and return the other, but they trays are unusable.

1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" are really nice to have, as well as deep sockets. I know they threw in a ton of bits and Allen wrenches, but you still have a decent amount of sockets. My Craftsman set that's about this size was $100 on Black Friday like 5 years ago when I worked there.

It says regular price is $100, which still seems low. I'm not sure where you warranty these, unless it's only online, which has been a concern for me. However, for this price, just buy 2. It doesn't look like it comes with a case, so be aware of that.

Same here. I got this set a few years ago from HD, and would have bought it again if it had the case. Similar price ($67.99) on Amazon now and it doesn't show the case either.

Yeah, I'm sure it doesn't have the box. Notice both eBay and Amazon links list model as DWMT45226 and everywhere else with box is DWMT45226H.

Pretty sure they are just taking the DWMT45226H and splitting the trays from the toughsystem box to sell separately 😂.

Trays would be nice to put in a tool chest and then you could always put them in a tough system box if you had one or for one later

The model with the case has a H at the end. So maybe this is a BF special?

It's nice to see a set with 6-point sockets instead of 12-point.

According to answers from strangers on Home Depot's web site, this set is made in USA. I'm going to return my $50 Lowe's MIUSA 88-piece Craftsman set.

My research shows...

As someone said, the product IDs seem to indicate when the box is included by having the "H" at the end, which these do not = no case.

The case is currently $60 and goes for that at the lowest historically on amazon.


I think I'll pass on this because I have the toughcase and it isn't convenient "grabbing my socket set" size, it's a lug. So even if I did buy another one, that kinda sucks.

Plus the option of buying the case for $60 brings the total to around $130. I figure that's a good deal but not as amazing as this price seemed at first. I can get the costco set in the hand carrying case for around $80 when it goes on sale.

Keep in mind the costco set is not equivalent, it definitely lacks the larger socket sizes this set has, this is a better set.

If I had no tools and I needed a full set, I would get this and buy the case. If I just needed tools for the best price and didn't mind having an unorganized pile of sockets in a cardboard box in the garage... I would buy this. lol
