Avatar The Last Air Bender is one of my favorite Cartoon Network series that can be watched and rewatch, I would prefer it in digital format, haven't seen a sale for a while… but good deal for both series.
Did you just say cartoon network series? This is OG NICKELODEON baby
Oh, please. What a superficial, uninformed opinion to have about digital mastering.
In fairness, up until recently the physical copies were notoriously bad. Netflix was the cleanest way to watch it, the engineers said they used it as a benchmark so it had a bit of TLC behind it on there.
However the recent Blu Ray sets were pretty solid -- aside from the fact that skipping the intro would skip the first minute or so of each episode. I'm not sure about this combo set and would also love to know if they're good fidelity.

I have the DVDs, is there really a huge difference between DVD and blu-ray in a cartoon?
let's assume they have ample information to produce a quality 1080p version. Compared to a DVD (480p), your experience will be primarily impacted by the size of screen and the distance you are from it while watching. If the distance and screen size are sufficiently matched so you can appreciate the difference, then 'YES'... If the distance and screen size in insufficient, then no.
There are many calculators you can find to determine optimal range for your screen size for 1080p content.

Regardless it's a series I'd highly recommend
