This isn't advertised anywhere and not even advertised in store. In store purchase only and YMMV. Needed one and went to checkout and was surprised it ran up as $15.

Thanks OP, not sure if Brickseek is accurate for this item, didn't see any on sale in my area, but here's the link for those that are curious.

Brickseek not showing any discounts near me. What home depot did you go to OP?

Saw these on a clearance endcap a few nights ago for same price as OP is talking about... $15. They were marked as clearance with yellow tags

ETA - Just checked Brickseek and can confirm that the store I saw them at for $15 shows them at $30 on brickseek.

ETAA - Nevermind. OP has linked the wrong item. This is the one on clearance (and its only 25% off so far). It's the cheaper model

Hmm..nice find. Now I'm torn between Milwaukee or Klein for the same price.

Spend the gas money huting or pay for shipping? I guess I'll toss a coin.

I agree. I own the Klein version and it has always worked great.

It will tell you if a line is live without having to make physical contact with it. You just hold the probe near the wire or touch it to the outside casing and it will tell you if it's hot.

Good for finding a fault if a line is out in prelit Christmas tree lights?

It helps you to not get electrocuted. Place the probe where there's live electricity, go to circuit breaker to try and find the right switch & turn it off, go back, if it's still beeping, try again. Repeat until it's silent (no live electricity), change out whatever you want to change out.

Two examples of what I used it for recently also as a new homeowner: changing out a GFCI electrical outlet, and replacing a regular light switch with a dimmer.

As you can guess, reliability on these things are really important.

Ooooh.... say more. I like where you are heading. I have always struggled finding where the disconnection is when half the lights go dead. Will this help??

I hit up a store 6 days ago, and this item (the Milwaukee) had dropped to $5.02 each. Nice if you can still find some.
