HP has the following HP OMEN 40L w/ customized config for $900.30 by using a combination of several offers. $900.30 price requires the following config:
  • AMD Ryzen™ 5 7600 RGB Air Cooler (up to 5.1 GHz max boost clock, 32 MB L3 cache, 6 cores, 12 threads)
  • NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070 (12 GB GDDR6X dedicated)
  • Kingston FURY 8 GB DDR5-5200 MHz XMP RGB Heatsink RAM (1 x 8 GB)
  • 512 GB WD Black PCIe® Gen4 TLC M.2 SSD
  • Front Bezel Black Glass with 600 W 80 Plus Gold certified ATX power supply
  • Realtek RTL8852BE Wi-Fi 6 (2x2) and Bluetooth®️ 5.3 combo

Price should come to $1299.99 with this config.

Required offers:
  • 10% off w/ coupon code 10BFCM23, price is now $1169.99
  • Before checking out, register for a new HP.com account to receive $3 off (100 pts), price is now $1166.99
  • Amex offer $150 statement credit on $999+ spend at HP, price is now $1016.99

I chose not to add more memory because it's cheaper elsewhere, such as:
https://shop.kingston.com/products/beast-expo-rgb-ddr5-desktop-memory?variant=43159731896512 [kingston.com]

You may also consider upgrading the power supply for an additional $50. I decided against it.

because its a mediocre system at best with a terrible starting price easily bested by several other deals. horrible memory you have to spend to get the to an adequate level. ssd/hdd is pathetically small. and on top of that you have to jump thru hoops including amex which most dont have just to get it to a moderate deal. no deal.
It's worth it to me to do a few tasks from my couch and pop in a few DRAM modules to get a system with a 4070 for sub $1000. There is not one system on the $1000 spreadsheet [google.com] with a 4070.

Not to mention it comes in a glass case with quality components from a reputable manufacturer with a current-gen mobo w/ a 10Gbps USB port. And it's available to anyone with the AMEX offer Smilie

Thanks for the effort. I bought one. If something better comes along, I will reconsider. More powerful systems may be too noisy for me when gaming . I like it quiet.

Is this written somewhere in slickdeals TOS? It feels very anti-competitive, and not in the best interest of Slickdeals users.
I'm pretty sure it is explicitly stated in several places. The site relies on earning from getting a cut from many deals. It often does present a conflict of interest and has led to "deals" that are hardly deals. Use pricing history sites, other review/deal sites, and do your own research as much as possible. I personally use other CB sties for some things, but also clickthrough on lots of things with SD so they do earn on some things I buy. If it's 1% CB on a $20 purchase I'm not going to sweat it too much (they don't always credit anyways) so I'm happy to let SD get the earnings on it. If there's some 10% cb promotion on a $400 purchase I'll probably have to go with that over SD.

I think the vague level of discussion allowed here is honestly enough. If you're that pressed you can figure it out and most people won't spend the time on CB sites anyways.

Thanks man! Makes me so happy it's helping at least a few people. It should have made the frontpage to help a lot more.

Sell the included CPU for $150 and replace with the most power chip on the market
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X and upgrade to 32gb ram and your rig should last 20yrs.

The 32GB ram upgrade is $107. I already ordered that, it's linked in the main deal post. Best thing to do is wait 3-4 years and get that CPU you mentioned real cheap.

Cooling is probably where they are skimping. However, neither the cpu nor gpu is going to be unduly hard to cool. great system for 1440p gaming at maxout.

Yeah for sure this is air cooling only. They have a similarly priced intel rig with heat pipe cooling. The higher end OMENs have liquid cooling.

HP has changed the game. Add RTX 4070 for $350 now brings starting price to $1350.

10% OFF gets one to $1215.

No AMEX magic here and ignore $3 discount. Also, pretty sure most can't get around sales tax. So, figure around $1300 delivered from HP.

Now, chase memory for $100+ so system is reasonably usable.

Probably not going to settle for 512GB WD_BLACK SN770 SSD. Add another $100+ for storage upgrade.

Is it worth the extra leg work? Any warranty implications on part adds/swaps?

Is $1500 a competitive price for such a rig? (This is calculated without AMEX discounts!)

This deal is not worth it without all four offers applied. No magic here, "AMEX offer required" clearly stated in the deal title.

For your other comments, storage is plenty for me and you can buy another 8GB module elsewhere for $30.

This is a sub $1000 budget rig. Yes it can be easily transformed into something that competes with the $2k league as you suggest. That is a big part of the appeal for me. Not for now but for down the road 😃

If you're down voting, pls let me know why! Hands down the slickest deal of all the rigs posted so far ordered it myself along with the same memory used by HP -- Kingston Fury 2x16GB 5200 DDR5 RGB RAM directly from Kingston for $108. Linked in the main deal post
Not thumbs down from me. Decent deal, I just don't have a good AMEX card. Curious what one ya'll have so I can get all these targeted deals. Stick Out Tongue

Though maybe do $1017 in the title. Then add "additional CB" in description. Not sure if you can type out what your first comment was though, without getting moderated.

How do I find the Amex deal? I do not see it anywhere on my card page.

This seems incredibly slick. I just built a PC with lesser specs for the same price. Kinda bummed I didn't see this first.
