I'd personally wait until getting close to expiration, it's usually pretty easy to find deals like this.

- Cancel 14 day trial and obtain refund for remaining period.
-purchased three 12month Core from Target for 128 bucks
- Redeemed all three codes for Core membership to expire in November 2026
- Upgraded to Ultimate 14 day trial.
- accepted conversion and new renewal date for Ultimate1 set to December 15, 2025
(note: I tried to redeem code without canceling my 14 day trial and it would only extend the membership by 4 months. I did not accept the conversion and instead followed the steps above).

I'm looking at doing this to mostly use Gamepass on PC, and maybe stream through the TV app, depending on the use/need. Maybe some on Steam Deck as well.
With this method can you have two people logging in and playing simultaneously? One login for my other half on his PC or the TV, and one for me on my PC or the den TV?

u did save urself some money though
fast forward to the present day, Nintendo is offering customer choice on the most popular games (aaa releases etc). Customers may buy physical gamecards and game boxes, or they can dload them. Many games couldn't get published and be available on the switch if they had to find a publisher / manufacturer and deal with retail stores and nationwide shipping / logistics. Many people in the world that love the switch were able to get a hold of one, but many places don't even have retail stores that carry games. A lot of places have internet but not a lot of retail stores period.
Offering digital dload is good, offering physical copies for game enthusiasts / collectors is also good. Nintendo didn't go all in one either one or the other way to acquire and play games. The switch is flexible too, because it can be home tv console, portable handheld or picnic / outdoor table picnic / camping gaming, whatever you like. Nintendo is the company that is pleasing the most customers because of their flexibility on where and how their games can be sold.
xbox and playstation brands are looking to ditch physical game sales all together, looking to make their systems cookie cutter game system (all just standard pc computers underneath the hood). New systems aren't really new hardware at all, it's just like PC gaming where you can choose to upgrade your machine or not. They'll have a lot of games running on both current retail hardware and also the previous console, that's exactly like pc gaming. Microsoft especially pushing this bs game rental idea.
How's that gonna pan out in Japan? they'll sell less and less system there rather than their "genius" plan to grow in market share overseas. in market share , asian markets are serious about their collecting whether it card games like magic the gathering, anime character models to display on a shelt,. A lot of people are proud of the library of games they collected over the years.
How's that idea gonna pan out in the western nations? People will be pissed off and not buy any kind of system offered right now, with the exception of the switch or some other good handheld system like steamdeck or other competitive pc based handheld system offerings. . Sales will tank, customers will just get a pc and pirate all their games just to stick it to sony and microsoft.
Nintendo is the clear winner in the usa regarding the number of units sold in the current generation, leader in the number of games sold. why? it has a lot to do with all the things I've discussed above. It has a lot to do with what steve jobs said about ipod / itunes a long time ago. People are not happy at all with sony or microsoft (and microsoft is the worst of them all, I mean they are really committing suicide right before our eyes. What a bunch of idiots. Is steve balmer secretly still at the helm for Microsoft? bc that would explain a lot
