Their espresso machines do the same thing.
They use crappy poor quality micro switches.
There is a YouTube video on how to replace the micro switch for the start button on the toaster.
I would not recommend it though
I have the BOV800XL and mine was intermittently not heating
We have had this oven for many years and it gets daily use.
The fix is pretty easy you have to reflow the solder on the relay board and clean the connector contacts for the elements, sand them with some emery paper of a nail file.
The hard part is opening up and putting the oven back together.
I had to go to Harbor Freight to pick up a really long as s screw driver ,I am talking about a Phillips head with a small heart that is over 2 feet long
Because there are like 5 screws that you need to reach that are in an extremely awkward position and they are not even magnetic, I had to use blue tack to hold the screws on the driver head which works pretty well actually.
This repair didn't involve me removing the control panel or disassembling it
But fixing the power button does
The disassembly and reassembly is a real PITA and there are a ton of screw and the stainless steel housing is very thin and easy to bend and you will definitely be bending the blades for the convection fan and they are not easy to bend back perfectly so the fan will end up being a little noisier than it already is.
Probably would have cost them less than a cent per unit to use higher quality micro switches ,certai not more that a few cents
Not sure why they cheap out on this or if they have even started using better switches in newer revisions.
