I'm desperate, I've read cat and dog food might work as mice bait in traps? I've only used peanut butter, nuts, cereal, chocolate so far with sparse action. This might be my next option

id suggest using peanut butter again but use very little sometimes underneath the trap trigger not enough to touch it but could get them to try to nibble it then bump the trigger if you use more than a small dab of peanut butter traps tend to not trigger correctly in my experience ive killed myself at least 20 mice in the past month with peanut butter alone.

I'd recommend going to a local shelter and fostering a cat for a few weeks, that'll run the mice out of your house quick!

Mix a tiny bit of polonium-210 in the peanut butter if you can't get then to fall off the roof of a building.

I was told by an exterminator to only use natural chunky peanut butter, and stay away from flavored peanut butters like "honey".. He's seen mice eat traps clean with creamy peanut butter, but when they try to pull one of the peanuts out of the chunky peanut butter, they set the traps off.

I wouldn't recommend these from Amazon... multiple times I've tried buying treats or cat food from Amazon they came with either bugs or worms 😬🐛

Too funny, turned into a rat catching thread. I use small apple slices, catching rats every day. Really depends on their local food source. Sunflower seeds work also, since a neighbor feed birds with them. Never had much luck with peanut butter (for rats, yes it works for mice sometimes) , since it dries out fast.
