I was also looking at this Aurora R16 [dell.com] for $1299. The 10% coupon works on it so my above math checks out.
That one has 13th gen i7, half the memory and half the storage, but an upgraded GPU.

While I do much prefer the aesthetics of the R16 over the design that resembles my Clarion Air purifier, I'm still not convinced these pre-built dell systems are good for i9s and any higher-end GPU in the same chassis.
