I'm looking to update my desktop to something around this price point. I can take advantage of Dell 10% off coupon + 15% from a CB web site + (2) $120 Amex promos to bring $1299 retail price down to about $750 + taxes. Need to pull the trigger today before CB ends.

Wondering peoples thoughts on this setup?

Looks like the additional coupon does not apply to this one. I guess they count the discounted price as a coupon already.

For the coupon you need to signup for Dell emails. You should receive a coupon in about 30 minutes or so.

That's just too bad since I only have 1 Amex offer. My total would be $984, still under $1k for i9. Any hard drive bays? Any concern about 500w psu?

I'm no expert as I've really just been looking at upgrading over the last week or so. The offers are too good to pass up.

I was also looking at this Aurora R16 [dell.com] for $1299. The 10% coupon works on it so my above math checks out.

That one has 13th gen i7, half the memory and half the storage, but an upgraded GPU.

If it had a 750W Platinum PSU and a 4070, I'd take the thermal risk.

While I do much prefer the aesthetics of the R16 over the design that resembles my Clarion Air purifier, I'm still not convinced these pre-built dell systems are good for i9s and any higher-end GPU in the same chassis.
