Just get the dam receipt or find another gift instead and avoid the headache
I feel like if the the box doesn't have the gift code in it then she feels like it it's a sham

But, I once bought Creed London perfume for my wife on Amazon (like $200 instead of $300), and it was absolutely not legit. Thankfully, Amazon just had me ship it back with a full refund, but I'd imagine there are people who do not know what the real smell is and are just buying for the name/brand for a present without ever smelling it, get totally scammed. That Creed was 100% sold by Amazon and fulfilled by them. It was not from some other company.
So, things like perfumes/colognes, I never buy as gifts off Amazon, ever. I will absolutely buy for myself because I have the opportunity to verify...
