Great specs for the price on a $120 budget phone.
Feels very high end in the hand with faux leather back.
Bought one for my 11 year old as a first phone. Its running all her games smoothly.
Works well on T-Mobiles 5g network.
Seems to get quarterly Android security updates, most recent being Sept 2023.

I've.worked in IT security for 25+ years.
My DD is still Android 11.
Stop trolling. Running a phone OS that is 3 years old is not the reason that you are going to get hacked.
You don't know that. And I have been a computer geek long before there was the world wide web.
If you read articles of experts, they say you should not use a device that is no longer being updated.. PERIOD... there is no maybe or well or ummmm it is DO NOT USE... that is from experts which tend to agree with this.
But you are "most likely" correct. But you can not be certain.
I will add that every single person I know does their banking on their phone. Right now this phone is GREAT... security upto date But in 9 months from now... then what?????? Not only are you using a phone that is stuck on Android 11, you also have a phone that no longer gets security updates.
Just keep it real. And I said I LIKE BLU and I do like their BOLD line. But security for phones are real.
And I know multiple people that have had their credit cards and their bank hacked... so I don't think it is that uncommon. And they can not tell you how or why or who...
My only issue about this phone besides updates and security issues is I hate curved glass, every curved glass phone I have had I have cracked the screen.

I will add that I also suggested that if you can find a deal on the Pixel 6a for about $100, this would be the phone that I would buy.

I don't know anything about this phone so I won't comment other than to say I think it's strange a new phone is shipping with A11.
But I'm more concerned about feature updated then security.
It's undeniable that phones without security updates are technically more vulnerable, but I don't know of anyone getting compromised because they are running a few Android versions behind.
As a professional granted I manage all my security risks better. Protect my passwords, know common sense with scams etc.
I think it is infinitely more likely someone is getting hacked because they clicked on a bad link and gave their information out than they got a rogue app from the Play Store that exploited them.
If they are side loading , etc, they know the risks. I run with an unlocked bootloader for development and use side loaded apps. I bank on my phone, etc, etc.
This is equivalent to saying no one should use a Windows 10 computer which is arguably way older than A11. And while I would agree that using an old PC version is more dangerous than an old Android version the fact is millions of people still use it because not every computer can run Windows 11.
A lot of things are true in theory, but in practice you are going to get compromised by your own stupidity nor by your decision to run a phone that's a couple years out of date.
Not that there aren't some legitimate loopholes that have been patched, but the whole industry especially around phones and personal computers is scare tactics to force you into a never ending upgrade cycle. Even the security "experts" know their job depends on it.

Original retail price a little over a year ago was $250... so it is now half price. Realize that this is not a Samsung phone that gets marked up a few hundred percent, this phone is like a TJMaxx phone... the original price is already a great price.
$250?? Who in their right mind would pay $250 for a BLU phone when you can get a Samsung Galaxy A-series for that price?
Btw, while having Android 11 will not necessarily get you hacked, Blu phones are a privacy and security risk in general, even if they come loaded with Android 14.

I recommend this phone.
I have had this phone for 2 months now. Got it to hold me over til the OnePlus 12 release.
Using with Visible wireless (has all Visible's 4G+5G bands except for ultra wide band 5G) it's a solid budget phone, no timeouts, beautiful 90hz screen, surprisingly great in-screen fingerprint reader (w/screen protector), battery life okay, Android 11 🤷🏻 , 30w fast charging, security updates, back camera decent for photos (128MP mode for best results) just ok for video (up to 2k, no Stabilization), selfie camera decent, okay video editing performance (Capcut, Inshot).
She has had an Android tablet for years, I know how to use family link to manage her cyber security, but thanks for your concern.
Plus its not like households have landlines anymore. ATT getting rid of all the pay phones accross the country didnt help kids and adults who needed them during a time of need during modern times. People will video record you before they call for help these days.

Just based on update longevity and current version of Android. I think the phone to get is the Pixel 6a. Just my two cents.
But there is a lot good about the bold N2. As mentioned it feels like a highend phone, but it ultimately fails and can not compete where it may count the most... updates and android version.
Agreed. As a former Blu user (many years ago but I doubt things changed) I didn't get a single Android OS update. Moved to a Pixel 6A and have gotten 2 so far I think.
