I bought this about a month ago on this same same, it's a great cable, and feels like it will last a while.

The fire sales already started a year ago when it was rumored that the nexg iphone will carry usb-c. I got too many lightning cables from amazon at $1-$3 range though they are not fast charge (18W) but do 12W max. $6 is actually one of the lowest for usb-c to lightning for a decent charge cable (not the chinese weird name stuff on amazon that sells 5 cables for a few bucks). So, if you are specifically looking for type-c to lightning, this is a good deal. It is still relevant if you have purchased a lightning apple gadget and plan to use the next few years, but if you have too many cables already, resist the urge to get this too.

Cable doesn't really improve charge speeds as much as what amps your charging block is.

Terrible reviews on Amazon. One of the reasons I passed on this deal when it showed up last time. However, I really do want a faster USB C cable for traveling. I don't know how the heck I lost the one that came with my iPhone.

I bought two of these. They charge as expected, but are very thick and rigid relative to Apple cables. Fold them for storage and they maintain that shape.

I'm aware of that. There's a difference between a rumor and actual implementation. Once the release happened there's was bound to be the push to get these out the door. Nothing wrong with letting LOTS of people know an out this before spending their money on another lightning cable. Do a poll at any retailer and see how many people, even mid-20 - 30yr olds, know the new iPhone is USB-C.
