I probably have over 20 Kwikset smartcode locks. The old versions with physical buttons. Those things are workhorses. The only problem I've had with them is (brushed nickel) fades after 3 years in direct sunlight. And the lifetime finish warranty takes care of that.

But I've not heard one good thing about the newer touchscreen models. Not sure what the issue is, but my friend who is a big landlord curses the newer models.

Had both versions and the touchscreen was inaccurate. It would register the wrong number pressed. Terrible sensitivity. The physical button versions work great.

What do you think about Yale? I was thinking of upgrading to touch screen remote operated deadbolt lock. I saw Yale has limitations on USA/canada only for using App. I am looking for best option

I personally love the August lock because you don't have to change the key. Yale I have heard good things about but have not tried myself.

Never understood why people think touch screens would be better than physical buttons. You absolutely need the feedback to know the button has been pressed. Not to mention glove use or cold can sometimes create sensitivity issues.

Because physical buttons are technologies from the past. Touch screens seem to be more modernized.

I agree, but just swapped away from this touch screen because it was inaccurate and the scree was peeling from the sun. They replaced, but the kids prefer the button model, 620

As a landlord myself this is what turns me off from buying these in all my properties. I don't want a call generated for "my lock is broken" when the batteries die.
