Edit: just an explanation, Symphony is considered one of the greatest Castlevanias, and is available on several platforms but not Switch. I don't know why.

That is odd, maybe they are going to eventually do a PS1/PS2 collection.
It's about accessibility and marketing to the younger crowd. Nintendo and Konami want the decades-old classics in front of the gamers who weren't born yet.

For example, I see that "Dracula X" is included in the Castlevania Advance collection (nevermind that it was never on the Game Boy Advance), but based on this screenshot [nintendo.com], it's the SNES port. The far more popular option would've been the PC Engine Dracula X: Rondo of Blood.
Or maybe Sony holds some kind of rights on the Dracula X Chronicles/Castlevania Requiem that were released for PSP and PS4.

I know, right? Even the Android Play store had it for $1 once. I jumped on that in a heartbeat. I just have to connect a Bluetooth controller so I can play it anywhere I go at all times.
When they do, they still have the same graphics but at $70. lol.

That makes a lot of sense, you're probably right.

Not just one of the best Castlevanias, but one of the best games ever. So much depth and so much to do including 2x content with flipped castle and true ending. Done in a way that was not just reverse the map.
