Note there is no USB C, that's on the newer model also on sale for $5 more ($18)
TUV Is German based certification agency for Europe and UL is North American.
It does benefit when you have to use one of those mutant plugs that devours all the space next to it. Just flip it over

TUV certification vs UL? Does anyone have insight into the differences? Thanks to comments on SD I get paranoid about power strips that don't have UL bursting into flames in the middle of the night.

I bought this as a "convenience" extension cord for my office so I can randomly plug in whatever (projector, speakers, etc). I really like it and it works. The one thing I am cautious about is the on/off switch. It doesn't seem to be the sturdiest switch and not sure how much repeated use it would hold up with. It hasn't caused any problems, but I purposely bought it for that on/off ability.

I'm no expert, but what I gather is that it's just a regional, basic safety requirement. it doesn't honestly speak to the quality of the product, just that it checks the minimum requirements of the regional safety standards. since TUV is for Europe, I'm not worried that it'll burst into flames.

I recommend avoiding this power strip as it has plugs on three sides, which complicates cable management and keeps it from staying put. Instead, consider a standard Anker flat power strip like the Anker 351 Power Strip.
For daily use I agree with you, I can image it has its unique use case though. For example you are traveling internationally where plug is not compliant with US standard, having a portable plug like this is much easier to carry on than a flat strip. This is also what it is advertising itself for.

> Supports Worldwide Voltages
Compatible with all standard wall outlet voltages worldwide (100V - 240V), so you can use PowerExtend safely wherever you are.
