No, RAM is built in to chip so whatever it has can't be changed. Same thing with internal storage, though you can get external drives to add more storage.

As a former apple hater, I can't say enough good things about the M series chips. It comes at a good time too as windows and android has ramped up the spyware to previously unseen levels. I'd spend some more to prevent my OS from collecting everything

People think their old Mac's are worth so much, when you can get a new one for this price. I never see M1's at a price that makes sense to buy vs just getting on sale brand new.

The reason M1 prices are high is because the M2 came with a $100 price drop at launch, prices are still correcting.

No and no. The M2 outperforms pretty much anything in this form factor and punches well above its weight price wise. It used to be true that PCs were better per dollar performance wise to Macs, but the tables have turned when Apple started using their own silicon.
