All P series WD drives are mechanical. You will want to look for D series drives which are their nvme models.

2TB is HDD, 1TB is NVME. The 1TB is an okay deal I guess but nothing special, good speeds but meh price. 2TB HDD isn't a good deal or product at this point.

2TB?

That should hold half of the data of an average COD game.

I have seen folks here saying local walmarts may still have them on clearance for qite a while and would be heavily discounted if you find one. $70 for a 2tb sounds "ok", but 4 and 5 tb are near $100 give or take $10 for the spinning portable hd's. $30 to $40 is about the right price in my mind. There have been bare 2tb ssd drives, both SATA and NVME that you could get a $10 case for near the same price of this deal and have the repurpose drive options as these are no doubt non shuckable..

I got the 5tb "unbranded" versions of these drives for redundant backups (non-gaming related) for just $20 more a few years ago. I fail to see how this is a "deal", let alone "slick".

I woulld not recommend this for any actual gaming off of it. For storage only, sure. Reason - It's SLOW! I can't get anything to run from it without hiccup/stuttering due to slow I/O. It's connected on a USB 3 Gen2 Port, and even Xenia emulator stutters with games like RDR, Condemned 2, etc.

Further down in the listing it says they were extended to now have an April 30th 2025 expiration.
