SteelSeries seems to have come back with a NEW stock of their Arctis Pro Wireless headset (NON-NOVA) which I believe they stopped selling back in 2022. I am a huge fan of the non-NOVA version since it does not require software for the hardware chatmix. Can't tell you how many times I have issues with the Nova software (Sonar) with newer pairs.

So while not the latest version with the Nova version, I recommend this over the Nova day-and-night. I would just recommend you purchase one of those magnetic Micro-B usb charging cables as Micro-USB ports are known to fail on these units after extensive use/charging over the years. The magnetic cable attachment should help with that issue since you won't be plugging it and and out.

tempting. I heard someone say that these actually have better range than the newer arctis nova pros (if this is important to you for all-around-the-house usage like me

FWIW I had a refurb model of this about 3 years ago. However I was very disappointed because it seemed to have a "fata" flaw with how the headset would turn the cups flat when not in use. The stem is metal, bu the connector is plastic, and the constant movement of daily use would lead to the plastic to crack and cups to then not work/be wearable. I never figured out if this was due to being a refurb or not but it made me stay away and switch to astro A50s.

I've never had that issue but I don't rotate mine flat much. I have been using them for years now and don't rotate the earcups flat. I usually hang the headset or place it down on my desk - but not rotating the ears. So they shouldn't turn in on you unless you make a conscious effort to do so - at least that's my experience with owning them for multiple years.

I also own A50s and like the range of the Pro Wireless better - and overall fitment.

If you're happy with your current a50s though, no need to switch. I'm just one that was super bummed when they stopped selling this when the newer versions came out with the software requirement.

good to know, thanks. Maybe I'll pick up a pair with headphone stands. My A50s are OK - i like the sound, and recently found a 3D Print fix for the headband falling off. But I don't love the range (steelseries felt farther)

There are multiple complaints about build quality on the band, and people also complaining about bad software updates bricking base station, etc. On the other hand, may regard these as the best gaming headset out there.
I'm thinking of buying these. I've never used a high-end gaming haedset, but I do use decent headphones BeyerDynamic DT990 Pro + SB X-FI Titanium Sound card as Amp. Thougtts?

don't buy them, get a wireless lapel mic is you plan to game and stick with your headphones. I regret my purchase because the mic keeps fading when you don't speak for a while. I've tried all the fixes too and it hasn't worked. The fit is extremely uncomfortable so I had to get some amazon velour pads and it helped but its still tight for me. I got them for 130$ new, and still regret it because of these two issues, not to mention one day the hinge might just break on me. The audio is also good but not anything crazy. I normally wear the sennheisers hd599 and i still prefer the senns over these.

They are bad ass. I have 2 of them. No issues. Sometimes i am on work calls in excess of 12 hours. Being able to switch out the battery and keep talking is awesome. I have had mine for a number of years. The only issue i have seen is the little screen on the box has burn in. I think they used oled for it which was a bonehead move. You can still read everything so it is the most minor and only issue… i wouldnt even rate it a "complaint". The normal price is kinda crap. But i still bought 2
