I'm not sure either but it seems to be a cheaper entry level series Samsung similar to the TU7000 or TU8000 series. I wouldn't expect it to be very good at all aside from the massive screen.

It's not an entry-level TV but it is from 2021. Original MSRP was $1599.

This 2021 TU9000/9010 series is the successor to the 2020 RU9000 series... which Rtings did review. Keep in mind that the Rtings review is for an 82" with a VA panel (higher contrast ratio & narrow viewing angle), whereas this 86" TU9010 has an IPS panel (lower contrast ratio & wider viewing angle).

I bought this the other day. I am far from a TV snob that has any concern for super awesome TV stuff. Just standard movies and sports and a tv show here and there. Wanted a large TV because we sit 12+ feet from the TV. With that being said its a pretty great TV for the price. Sports look great and movies are equally as good. The only negative so far is we have a lamp and some christmas garland on an entry table directly behind us and the reflection is quite obvious in the TV. I just shut them off if we are watching something at night.

I put it on a mount. commercial electric one that my neighbor had new in box. It fits up to a 90 inch per the box. If I could do it again, I would splurge on a really good mount. It made me quite nervous moving it around while installing it. We don't have a need to move it on a regular basis but if i did, it would be a tad stressful.

I will also say that the viewing angle is much better than the hand me down TV it replaced. We have an open concept home and the old one was not really able to be viewed well from the kitchen at a 40-50 degree angle. This one is easy to see from the same angle.

In conclusion, if you are a casual TV watcher in need of a large TV, I would recommend this.
