It is a great deal for the vacuum. It isn't "actually" a Dewalt vacuum as previously discussed in other threads but still a good one for the money.

I bought this for one of the comparable past sales. Very happy with it. Moves easily, has a bag for all the attachments that you can hang on it. Good power. It's helped keep my little basement woodworking/metal working efforts clean.

Couldn't tell you how it compares to others, just that it's a good quality tool (based on my limited use) for a good sale price.

Currently selling on Amazon for $123.00. Generally good reviews. Seems like a good deal ($53 savings). Picked one up from Costco today.

This might not be a bad thing. From what I gather reading reviews of other products, DeWalt vacuums seem to be a weak spot in their lineup

You have a recommendation for woodworking/saw dust/ec.

Anything with 6hp peak should be okay. more cfm and static pressure to pick up the heavier particles

Rigid makes the best shop vacs, go with any of those if I were you

I can't find this discussed in a few other threads. What brand makes it?

It's made by Alton Industries—who make most of all Stanley Black & Decker shop vacs.

It's actually 5 Hp peak. I bought one a couple of days a go. I add a few electrical pipe and use it to vacuum gutters. Beats climbing up the roof.

I do not recommend regular shop vac for ash. If you decide to go that route, I used to use a bag plus a canister filter. You'll still get ash blowing out of the exhaust but it'll be bearable.
