Unfortunately the Linen color was not deliverable to my zip code, but price matched Ivy @ $119.99 with Best Buy. Also coming from a Nest Hello with bad battery.
Does this require a subscription to access recordings?
No, but they are very limited, like 3 hours. So if you had someone come by in the middle of the night, it's probably already gone when you wake up. So the subscription is almost a must.
I had the gen 1 nest door bell. the battery was toasted within 2 years under Arizona heat. Replaced it with the gen 2 wired unit, its working well after 1 year.

I have no subscriptions. It is still useful since video pops up on the g hub and you can see who is by the door. (When it works , g sucks pretty much)
I went from a nest thermostat to a google branded nest thermostat. All I can say is Google royally F'd all the hard work Nest did building out the initial functionality.
The nest app worked without issue on my original nest. The actual device worked fine too. I could change wifi networks on it from the device.
I upgraded my wifi and when I went to change wifi networks on the google nest, I couldn't do it without factory resetting the thermostat. It forced me to go through the initial setup like 5 times before I was able to get to the wifi screen.
I was swearing profusely for an hour. I couldn't uderstand how the usability could go from super easy to an hour long headache after google bought nest. I guess google does what google does best. buy a company, kill the legacy stuff and never finish building out the worse equivalent of what they just killed

The wired version is much smaller, has better video quality and I believe can record 24/7 while the battery version can't even if you wire it.

Otherwise it's a great doorbell. Wired and wireless.
