these were just released today and Ubiquiti is doing a good job of bringing them in and out of stock, if you want to buy one directly from Ubiquiti they are in stock right now. I think it's a pretty slick deal to have this device for less than $150. posting this because I know a lot of people have alerts and they may not even know this device was released today, I know I didn't.

Issue is 2.5g controllers don't cost much more, if at all. Hence why the cheapest motherboards have them now. Greater than 1gig internet speeds and wifi protocols are becoming the norm enough that products like these are becoming the bottleneck, even for 1 user.

It's a $150 device more capable than most need. Most people don't have gigabit uplink, let alone an accidentally overprovisioned one. Additionally, as a managed device there's a lot more to it than the controller. It's a budget device and isn't going to be a good fit for everyone.

It looks great to me for family members that need network help. It's priced better than unmanaged devices and allows me to remotely connect and debug if they have issues without the security nightmare of publicly exposing the admin page common on most consumer routers.

Perfect for my office. Added a U6-Mesh that didn't play well with my slower home network. Devices that disagreed with my old office routers now connect easily. Signal overall is strong everywhere. Remotely accessible with the ap. Big win. No Whammies.
