these were just released today and Ubiquiti is doing a good job of bringing them in and out of stock, if you want to buy one directly from Ubiquiti they are in stock right now. I think it's a pretty slick deal to have this device for less than $150. posting this because I know a lot of people have alerts and they may not even know this device was released today, I know I didn't.

1 Ethernet port on the back with no PoE. Not 4 like a typical router.
Gigabit Ethernet in (not 2.5gb) (many gigabit plans overprovision and you get 1.2 gigabits instead of 940 megabits using a 2.5gb port - 21% more internets for free!!
Make sure it is a good fit for you because a lot of homes I do tech help in have a Roku or smart TV or desktop or ip phone dongle or some combo of those so you need a switch or to buy something better right off the bat if you want a hard wired AP on the other side of the house.
This is good for apartments IMO
The dream router can run one additional Unifi OS app on it (protect, talk, etc), can accept an SD card if you want to have a couple cameras doing event recording, and can power a couple of devices via PoE (it's basically a dream machine lite). The only area it really suffers is the CPU isn't super strong, so capacity for more than just a couple cameras for example isn't there, it limits you to only one other unifi OS app besides the network controller, and it struggles supporting internet speeds over about 700Mbps. It does support IDS/IPS. Reference the resource calculator for more specifics:

This thing is just a Unifi network controller, router, and Wi-Fi 6 2x2 AP in one package. No camera support, no talk support, etc. Quick setup via bluetooth, and it's setup to prompt you right at the start to either configure it as a new network, or as a mesh AP. This thing basically gives me amplifi instant vibes, but running unifi controller instead. Also, this device does not support IDS/IPS.
I can think of a lot of great use cases for this device: small businesses with minimal internet needs (small store fronts specifically), small remote offices connected via VPN, easy mesh access point for a dream router/dream machine in a larger house since it doesn't need PoE and isn't designed to be ceiling mounted, remotely manageable network device for family/friends, etc.

I did buy a ~$8 replacement power supply off of Amazon.
I'm glad to see that Ubiquiti is putting out a couple of USG replacements in this price range. I was hesitant to get the Dream machine pro @ ~ $400 as it was way more device than I need.
Wrathre posted a good reason some may decide to upgrade.
